Mother's Day Weekend in Vail

Chris was so dear and surprised me with a trip up to Vail at the Arrabelle for Mother's Day. We took it easy all weekend. My favorite part was getting to read for hours at the spa.

Beautiful snowy peaks

Pool time

William kept sighing in delight while in the hot tub. He also said "this sure is nice, guys." He started to call Chris and I "guys" on our recent vacation. On a side note, he also often says, "It sure is nice out."

William going potty with his sunglasses = pretty cool cat! We brought the potty with us to be sure we did not miss a beat on this potty training business. He has consistently been going pee in the potty for over a week now! #2 is another thing. One day at a time - he is doing really great!

Master William Newton.

Movie Cuddle time before bed.

In room dining, yes please. I think I went into a food coma soon after this meal. I have been training for the Bolder Boulder and been consistently running over 6 miles a day - let's just say my appetite has gone up considerably.

There seems to be some cookies missing from this platter..hmm?

View from our balcony

Morning hike on Mother's Day, it was beautiful!

William and Daddy

As soon as we got near the river, he of course started a project. This one consisted of throwing as many pinecones in the water as possible.

The pinecones started to get stuck so he got a stick. Here he is trying to free them.

William why do you have chocolate on your face when we haven't even had breakfast yet?

Mother's Day Swim.

Feeling sleepy on the drive back to Boulder.

Chautauqua Hike

Sporting his Bear's Gear and of course Gil had to come with.

Found a stick

He has become quite the hiker these days.

Thinking about how he can get his little hands on this Lego car.

Soon to wed.

My one and ONLY!

March of Dimes

I recently joined my friend Jessica, who is the mother of Jameson and Isabel, to march for healthy babies. The walk was 5 miles long, not a big deal at all. I was very happy to get to be part of this great cause.

Here are some photos of the kids playing in the bounce house after the march had finished.

So grateful for my healthy baby!

Mother's Day gift from William

William came home from school with this beautiful handmade Mother's Day gift! This is the sweetest and most darling gift I have ever received.

The heart says, "Happy Mother's Day!"

It went up on the fridge with other art from William, at his request. His friend Phoebe drew the dinosaur and birthday cake for his birthday - very well done!

Potty Training

William is potty training! It kind of started in Kauai. We spent so much time in the ocean/pool that it just kind of happened naturally and he started spending 6-8 hours without a diaper. There were definitely some accidents but it was fine and it brought positive attention to it!

We picked it back up just this past weekend. At first he was very hesitant about it, which made it hard, but we stayed positive and pushed through! Now, William has been telling us he has "that feeling" as we call it. I read that on a mom site and it works. Wearing big boy pants seems to be working for him. He actually got to pick some out himself! Pull-ups are also key for car rides and other outings. He spends most of his time at home without a pull-up, though, and he's gone both #1 and #2 in his potty! He even pulls his own pants up and down like a big boy. There are accidents here and there and we all try to just move on from it, and he goes again in the potty later. We got him some toy car prizes for when he goes and he loves them.

We are very excited and proud of William on this big milestone and are definitely looking forward to saving money on all those diapers!
