Quack Quack

Monday Fun

William and I went to the Boulder Public Library and checked out some new books to read.

After we checked out some books, we walked over to the Boulder Creek, read a book, and had fun hanging out with the ducks. It was a very lovely and peaceful morning.

After the ducks, we went for a walk to a nearby park and saw that there was a bulldozer, digger, and dump truck digging up some dirt from the creek under the bridge. This has to be one of his all time favorite things to do. We sat nearby and just watched "Bob the Builders" work.

William was excited to read his library books before bed tonight. We actually read them all at least twice today. Reader boy!

He got "Are You My Mother?", "I am an Astronaut", "Thomas & Friends", and "Three Whales", which is a book about the Hawaiian whales migrating from Alaska to Hawaii.

Pictures of William playing in different parks around town...

Here William was letting me know that I was going the wrong direction and should be following him. I appreciate that he knows what he wants.

He loves to walk around and around and around this path of rocks.

Proud little climber. He climbed up and down all by himself.

3 year stats

William had his 3 year check up a few days ago, a little early. He is doing great, everything is looking good. His speech development is amazing as well as his motor skills. He has recently started to describe things by what they aren't instead of what they are; often while riding in the car, he will say, "red light means stop, green light means go," and so on, but he now also says, "red light does not mean go." He sometimes stutters in an attempt to merge a sentence together, but the pediatrician said it is very normal and that his mind is working a little faster than his mouth sometimes. We try to simply repeat the sentence after he says it and often he does not stutter the second time around. He has funny things he says as well. Chris and I often look at each other in amazement and say to ourselves, "we need to write this down so we don't forget!" Here is one that we remember: "so here is the question." He then follows that with a question about his toys. We are just loving our big boy. I can't believe he is going to be 3 in less than a month, then on to another amazing year of growth!

3 year stats:

Weight: 33# 3.2oz (70th %tile)

Height: 39.5" (84th %tile)

Music

Today we went to see some music and had fun playing at the Parenting Place here in Boulder. William was feeling a little punky, and he is still not 100% from all the sickness that has been going around. It seriously feels like he has been sick the entire winter. We figure it has to do with the fact that he has been getting more exposure to kids by going to daycare and playing at the YMCA while Chris and I work out. I guess it's a kid thing because all the other moms are having the same issues with their little ones. Still, I am really looking forward to some more consistent and warmer weather in hopes these fever and cold symptoms will finally end.

I think someone is ready for another haircut!

He had fun "cooking".
