Halloween 2009

Back in 2009 I did not have a blog for William so today I wanted to share a Halloween throwback. In 2009 he was a little lion. Oh my goodness I cannot believe how little he is and looks here.

Playing at the munchkin masquerade on Pearl St.

"Wild one"

We did a pumpkin patch that year as we always do. He loved riding on the barrel train.

Waimea Falls

On our trip to Oahu we hiked around the Waimea falls. This place hosts some beautiful vegetation.

Baby Arrabella giving the camera a smile! Love this kid!

My other amazing child doing what he does best, exploring!

Baby B. napping on daddy! All the nature is just too relaxing!

Daddy and William swimming at the fall. William was swimming all around with dad!

Feeding the Fish

One morning William got to feed the fish at the ocean lagoon. They do daily feedings but we had just missed it, thankfully one of the employees at the rental booth was really nice and let William feed the fish anyway. He also gave William a laminated card with the different kinds of fish that might come up to eat.

William wore his laminate all day!

The fish came soon enough and William figured out right away that they were  bonefish.

Shark Hotel

Here are some pics from around the JW Marriot Ihilani Ko Olina Resort and Spa in Oahu. William calls it the shark hotel because they have a pool of hammerheads and reef sharks. They also have another pool with some rays and lots of beautiful tropical fish and sea stars. It is a very beautiful property located right next to the Oahu Disney resort. The Spa at this resort is amazing, almost as amazing as the relaxation room at the Arrabelle in Vail and only because we are in love with the Arrabelle!

William checking out the sharks, he loves sea life!

As usual William running around the palms.

William standing at the resort.

Doing one of William's favorite hotel activities, night swimming!!!

On the far left side of the photo you may be able to see William and Daddy snorkeling.  William loves being in the water, it is amazing to me that he can now snorkel in the ocean.

Creatures!

It's Thursday and that means it's time for another William throwback! This time we are going back to Waikiki, Oahu for a creature report.
The day we arrived to Waikiki, this Hawaiian monk seal was there to greet us.

One morning we got to pet and feed the penguins on the Hilton Hawaiian Village property. They are from South Africa.

The birds always come when there is food around and they sometimes perch on turtles.

Turtle Tuesday

This past week we got to visit Oahu for a few days. Chris had a work trip and we tagged along. It was our first trip as a family of 4. One of the days we headed to the north shore of the island, it is our favorite side of Oahu.

William loves the Hawaiian green sea turtles known as honu.

The oceans waves were creating a mist off the shore.

This beach tends to always have sea turtles resting on the shore giving it it's name Turtle beach.  They come out to warm up and digest their food. One of the turtles was around 45 years old. Volunteers watch over the turtles for their safety.  After the sunset the turtles will typically go back in to the ocean.

Pumpkin Patch

We had fun at the Kula pumpkin patch, it was a cloudy cooler day in Kula and it reminded me of fall which I am missing this year. Hawaii sure is hot and sunny, especially in the summer, not that I can complain much but I will always be a Midwest girl and I like my crisp fall days.  Winter should bring some cooler-rainy days to the islands!

William looking for the best pumpkins in the patch.

William had fun petting the pony!

They have a Sesame Street theme kids garden that was full of fun characters!

Photo up with Cookie Monster the pirate.

BOO!

Bert and Ernie pumpkins.

William loves the corn maze! We found our way out right away but decided to play lost for a little while. William enjoyed running around the maze!

Writing on the Sand

The last few Thursdays I have been doing a throwback of some older pictures from earlier this year that I never got around to sharing on the blog. I am doing my throwback  today instead because we will be out of town on Thursday.

These pictures are of William writing his name on the sand during our trip to Hawaii the Big Island back in spring.
