William's 7th Birthday Party!

William wanted to have his 7th birthday party at the skating rink, where he plays hockey. For the first time we had his birthday party on his birthday. We all got together before open skate night for some pizza, cake, and fun. Everyone kept telling me what a great party idea this was, it was all William! There is a large playground and grass area and it was hard to get all the kids together for a picture, we didn't even get a good picture of the cake, but that is okay, because it was delicious and everyone had a blast!

Here are most of the boys!

Taking a break from rollerblading for some gummies. The kids loved the gummies!

A candid shot of the kids getting ready for an epic night time tag session in the park, it went on for about 2 hours and all the parents had to team up to get the kids to leave.

William and Arrabella were so dirty from running around and had to get a nice wash when we got home.

Anyone want to buy some leaves!?

William is 7!

William turned 7 years old on Friday, 4-10-15. We were invited to the classroom at the end of the day to celebrate William with the class. It was really very sweet! He got to wear a birthday cape, all the kids sang Happy Birthday and he blew out his candle!

Notice the chalk board writing in the back with "Happy Birthday William" and a golfing fish!

The kids were asked to say one word that described William and they all made birthday cards for him! It was really sweet and funny! I love that the girls thought he was cute (2x)! Obviously the "wonderful son" was from us!

The kids made the cutest drawings for William's Birthday cards. I wish I could share them all but here are a couple. The theme was golfing and fish or a golfing fish.

We brought some Popsicles for the class and played charades at the end of the school day! The kids were hilarious.

GG's Aloha Shirt!

GG Harold gave Chris some of his vintage aloha shirts! Chris loves them and wears them proudly!  Here in Hawaii Chris is encouraged to wear aloha shirts for work, so these came in handy.

Looking good at the Kauai Marriott Resort!

I will be updating our blog for the month of March. We had such a fun month, apparently too fun to blog about. Please check out March posts!!!

Easter Sunday

This Easter Sunday we had Easter service at the Makawao Union Church. It was a lovely service and we felt very welcomed. This church is listed on the Hawaii and U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It was build back in 1917 and before that there was another church in the same place.

William let me dress him up! I miss the days I could play dress up with him. Thankfully he has a tasteful and classic style (most of the time)!

The kids got to do an Easter Egg hunt after the church service.

The Easter Bunny came to our house after church. Sometimes one basket is just not enough. This dress from Panna (she calls Pamma, Panna, silly) was perfect for Easter!

Easter egg hunt in the citrus orchard in our yard.

The Easter Bunny had lots of fun hiding eggs in our large yard.

Arrabella found her love for chocolate this Easter. We had to cut her off, somehow she figured out how to find the eggs with chocolate in them. She is definitely her father's daughter. Surprisingly she did not get her dress dirty!

Here are some eggs we decorated this Easter. We had lots of fun decorating eggs, William made some twin eggs, they are the two purple ones on the right. I made some glitter ones and a mermaid one for Bella. We also got creative and made a pineapple and a universe egg!

Easter whale watch!

We had such a fun Easter weekend together here on Maui! It would be nice to celebrate more holidays with family, that was the only thing missing. For now Maui life is kind of amazing! It is nice to count all of our blessings and to be reminded of why we undertook such a huge and challenging life change.

Ocean boy!

This picture makes my heart so happy!

Loving on Dad!

Bella loves her snacks!

William on the lookout for whales and hanging with the captain.

There was a lot of action outside of the boat as well! This was one of our last whale watch cruises for the season before all the whales head back to Alaska. This whale watch did not disappoint! I would not be surprised if we go again just because we love the whales and being out on the water.

We got to see dolphins and whales together for the first time! Epic ocean adventure!  The dolphin fin is on the bottom right!

Egg hunt in the forest!

The kids went on an Easter egg hunt in the fairy forest with their friends! We are there most days hiking, so it was a treat to go have a festive activity in this special place! It is a perfect spot for children to run around and explore nature!

Bella having fun in the forest!

She is hilarious!

William and Kenji!

Someone found the chocolate!

Basketball!

William's second basketball season has started! Chris is head coach this season! They both love it! They have their first practice today. Hockey season is still going for a few more weeks, so we are all very busy running around the island.

GG's Rice Krispie Lamb!

We received a very special package all the way from Belleville, IL, this Easter! GG Laverne took the time to send her famouse Rice Krispie lamb! We love this wonderful and tasty tradition! Thank you GG!

Yep, the ears were the first to go! Bella wants some too!

Yumm!
