Nā Pali Coast

On our second full day in Kauai, we also took a whale watching sunset boat ride along the Nā Pali coast. If you don't know, the Nā Pali coast is one of the most beautiful places on earth. It is only accessible by water, air (helicopter), or intense hike. Our boat ride was one of the most anticipated activities of our trip and it did not disappoint! All aboard the Southern Star, courtesy of Captain Andy's boat tours!

William's first boat ride was on the Southern Star. Lucky little boy got to see the majestic Nā Pali coast by water! This place holds such great history and wonder.

One happy little boy!

A fish eye view.

William's truck, Gil, got to go on vacation too, and went almost everywhere we went. Here he is sneaking a sneaky tiki cocktail.

Dolphins!

Whales!

We got to see some amazing humpback whales! Here is the Mama humpback whale. This pod was by far the most darling. It was a mom and baby whale. I am sure there were some other male whales with them. We got to see the baby whale nursing and flipping back and forth over it's mom!

This baby whale is super cute showing off it's fluke!

William started to get tired towards the end of the of the boat ride. It was 5 hours long! So, he actually did get a little sea sick during the last 20 minutes of the boat ride. Thankfully it was only the last 20 minutes and not the whole time like other passengers on the boat that day. He was such a trooper and we were extremely proud of him! As soon as we got off the boat he was back to his normal, happy self!
