A few days after we arrived at our new house in Chicago, William started preschool! He is in the Sea Turtles class with 15 other 3 year olds. We are so proud of him. He loved it instantly and has made some new friends. He didn't need any time to adjust, nor did he cry or whine at all. Here are a few pics of him as he is leaving for school on his first few days. What a cute little man!
All the kids get a cool tote bag that we can decorate. He uses it to bring his projects home and bring in his assignments each day. He brings in an item for show and tell each week that begins with a certain letter ("A" and "B" so far).
His school is so close to our house. We drive him in the morning, then Chris and I have been running there in the afternoon to pick him up in our running stroller. It is a great break in the day and a way for us all to spend time together outside getting come exercise. Hopefully we can keep that up for at least a few more weeks and enjoy some gorgeous fall weather before the winter hits!
We took Nora on one of our runs to pick him up! Nora was a hit with the kids. She is such a sweet dog.

Mount Evans
On Labor Day in early September, we took a day trip o Mount Evans, another 14-er in the Rocky Mountains. The highest paved road in North America takes you about 100 feet from the summit, where you can get out, hike to the top and enjoy the views and mountain air.
We saw a family of mountain goats along the way!
William hiking around the summit.
The Castle in the Sky is a man made structure near the summit.
We had fun exploring the castle.
William pointing out all the cool stuff you can see from the top. The world sure looks different 14,000+ feet above sea level!

Moving
We started moving the second week of September. It sure has been a process, full of lots of emotion and change! On our last Sunday in town, several friends came to meet us for brunch at Centro in downtown Boulder.
Isabel and Jameson helped William "pack" his things...
Here Isabel was showing me her boo-boo - she was fine, she just liked the band aid, what a cutie ;)
The boys having some music time fun.
William the one-eyed Bears pirate...aka, Brian Arrrr-lacher
The kids were loving Anton's dolly rides!
Our Colorado friends are amazing and helped us load up the truck.
The boys wearing their Bears jerseys and packing up the truck for our big move back to the Chicago area, how appropriate.
William enjoyed the whole moving experience and had fun playing in and on the boxes.
We sure do miss the beautiful mountain town of Boulder and all our wonderful friends and family that live there. This was our view every day. It's definitely not the easiest place to leave; however, William's smile when we tell him he is going to see Pamma, Grandpa, his uncles and aunts, and his cousins is priceless and so worth all the work and change.
Pamma was there to greet us after our long two days on the road. William has a silly happy face, he loves his new playroom.
Both Nora and Kanik made it home safe and sound.
On our first morning here we got a wonderful little visitor, William's cousin, Miss Claire. They had the best time playing and running around the yard and park behind our house together.

Flagstaff House
On one of our last nights living in Boulder in early September, the three of us got dressed up and went to eat at the Flagstaff House. It is a famous and fabulous fine dining restaurant located on Flagstaff mountain overlooking the entire city of Boulder and Colorado front range. It was the perfect place for our last fancy meal in Boulder.
Love William's tie through the water glass.
The Flagstaff House Bunny.
William looked so handsome in his big boy tie.
About to enjoy our amuse-bouche before our meal.
My Boys!
William was so well mannered and did amazing considering the dinner lasted about 3 hours.

Phamily Night at the Phish Show!
William went to a Phish show over Labor Day weekend in Denver! It was his first show, and Daddy's 101st! We decided last minute to go and are so happy we did, we had the best time with all our friends! William's friends Jameson, Isabel, and Brooklyn were all there hanging out together, and their parents were hanging out with Chris and I. As soon as we pulled into the lot, William started talking about the Rainbow children...I was very confused, but Chris told me there was an old group of Phish phans that called each other "rainbow family," so William's comment was very interesting and funny. A few minutes later, a rainbow came out to greet us before the show. William stayed up very late but was really well behaved, all he wanted to do after the show was go home and light candles...what a hippy ;)
The kids all got glow sticks and bracelets. Here William is putting one on Isabel.
High five time!

Pearl St. Train Ride
During the Summer months, the Pearl St. mall in Boulder offers free train rides to the little ones in the morning. William got to ride on it this summer before we left.

Here are some photos of our wedding from September 19, 2009. We did not have a blog for William back then so I wanted to share some photos today,on our two year anniversary! There are quite a lot of them so I just picked a couple of good ones.
Wedding group shot @ the wedding deck in Vail, Colorado.
Pamma and William spent a lot of time together during the wedding weekend and our honeymoon.
Possibly my favorite shot of the whole weekend! Love my little handsome Man!

Our Sea Turtle
We recently went back to Chicago to attend a wedding, visit friends and family, and get a few things lined up for our move there this fall. While we were there, we had a chance to attend the orientation of William's new preschool! He is in the "Sea Turtles" class, which is perfect for him considering how much we all love the ocean. William's Pamma used to be the director for this preschool and we are very proud and excited to see it all come full circle! William had a blast exploring the new school and meeting his teachers and classmates. We are so proud of our little guy - he is really growing up!
