I have been on a hiatus
from blogging this year and will try my best to update the blog. William has done lots of different things in
the last 6 months, from play dates, school parties, birthday parties, traveling,
turning the big 5, to getting ready to be a big brother and moving to Hawaii.
There is lots of action at the Newton household.
The biggest milestone for William was turning 5 on April
10th of this year. We can hardly believe
that our little baby boy is now 5! William is one of the biggest blessings
Chris and I will ever get in this life time.
He is truly an amazing child that we love dearly. He is a good boy but does a good job at being
assertive with others if needed. He is a natural leader!
William had a great year in pre-school! He made new friends and learned about
animals, ABC’s, numbers, social play, God, and much more. He graduated two weeks ago I will post
pictures and videos!
Favorite Toys
William is currently really into Lego’s and will build
houses and campers out of them, among other things. He really loves building
things up and taking them down to build them up again. For his birthday he got a few different Lego sets
of Star Wars and has had a blast building them with some help from me or Chris.
The age group is 7-12 but after we do it once he can do it by himself. He also likes swords, drawing/coloring, and playing with marine life animals and anything
relating to the sea.
Favorite TV show
His two current favorite TV shows
are The Octonauts and Jake and the Never Land Pirates on Disney Junior. In the Octonauts, the characters go on various
missions to save or help sea life.
William has learned lots of facts about sea life through the show. Because of these shows he now often speaks
like a pirate, it’s very funny!
Current Interests
His current interests are learning about sea life, insects,
and Astronomy (stars, planets, etc). His
bed time stories of choice are about marine life facts or most currently about
Insect facts. This has been going on for
3+ months now, he is really in to it.
Chris and I have learned a thing or two as well after reading the books
over and over.
Recent Milestones
He can add and subtract simple math problems such as 1+2=3
or 5-1=4. He has also learned to count
in 10s. He continues to improve on his reading and knows just about
all the different sounds of the alphabet.
Favorite Book
His favorite book for the last few months has been Amazing
Sharks and Sea Creatures. Right now we
are reading 1000 Facts on Bugs! He loves his good night story time, most nights
it’s more of a family reading time so the baby gets to listen in!
